The maximum native magnification that can be achieved with this lens without the use of extension tubes is x 0.5. It is tempting to think of using extension tubes to yield a higher magnification but the results are poor and not recommended.

Distortion: Negligible levels (0.039% barrel to 0.013% pin cushion)

This lens has an outstanding optical performance on both FX and DX sensors. It is highly recommended if manual focusing is acceptable to the user.
